Physical Theatre Dream-Work. An abstract expressionist female painter stuck between lives. A Hobo-Clown Guardian Angel a re-enacts her life(poorly). Performed in a black box with three walls of clothes. The audience enters through the wardrobe, through clothes hanging from ceiling, walls, and floor-- somewhat like a haunted house.  When they come into the space they sit on one side of a large black box room.  The other three walls are covered in clothes.  Covered from floor to ceiling with no gaps.  Solid walls of clothes.  It should smell like an old attic or a closet that has been shut up for the winter and you are the first to open it for summer. Stage Right wall is covered in baby girl to teenage clothes, back wall is teenage to middle age clothes, Stage Left wall is middle age to old age clothes. HESITATION stands on 6 foot stilts back stage left watching the audience intently.  The song Alice was singing is playing softly over the speakers...  Inspired by Helen Frankenthaler, Autism, Bag Ladies and Near Death Experience.

A Theatre Near You?

ATOMIC CITY

An international interdisciplinary theatre collaboration between Jon Morris and Danish theatre company Terra Nova (www.t-nova.org) featuring award winning actors, dancers and musicians from Sweden, Germany, Denmark, and Guatemala.  This world-premier tragic-comedy is inspired by the literary works of Haruki Murakami and Oak Ridge, TN, my birthplace and the birthplace of the Atomic Bomb.

A recipe for pie and one for destruction: On a patch of grass, accompanied by original live music, euro-crash dance, magical realism text, acrobatics, water guns, and a living wall, this tragic comedy unfolds. Atomic City’s world-premier opened LaMaMa ETC’s 47th season in the Annex theatre Sept. 11 - 28th, 2008. Performances in Copenhagen, Stockholm, and Los Angeles are pending.
